Market Research

I began my research by looking at different types of kayaks and finding their pros/cons. While seeing which type of kayak could use some improvement.

Interviews

I interviews three kayakers with different kayaking backgrounds to get some first hand insight.

Insights

Design space compartments

After research and interviews, I came to the conclusion that I would design an inflatable kayak that can fit inside a bag. The fact that it would go in a bag inspired me to make it a Patagonia concept.

Based on my insight, I began ideating which turned into mockups and then refinement.

How it Works

Features

The hatch attaches to the backpack for extra storage. Then attaches to the kayak so you can take everything with you without have to transfer anything.

Hatch

The stitch lines make putting the kayak away stress free. All you have to do is fold where the lines are and when you're done it will easily fit into the backpack.

Stitch Lines

With a twist of the button the kayak starts to inflate similarly to how a inflatable mattress does. It's waterproof and rechargeable for a smooth

experience.

Internal Pump

Extra back storage for bringing extra items, the possiblities are endless.
